Next is the plan for an allotment with poly tunnel and growing area on the top field to support our outdoor learning programme. Massive thanks to everyone involved. Renishaw Remembers Mrs Bentley
On Thursday 7th April 2022 Renishaw finally paid their well over due respects to Mrs Bentley who passed away back in 2020.

The school came together with staff, children, governors and parents with a mixture of happy memories and poems written and read by Years 3, 4, 5, and 6. The sun shone and in a sea of colour, messages were hung from the Japanese Blossom Tree planted at the start of the runnng track. Planted in her memory, it will be a constant reminder to the entire community of how respected and loved she was in all that she did at the school.
In addition, the PTFA have funded a defibrilator which is for community use on the outer gate to Hague Lane, with an inscription in her memory.

2nd prize at the Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize Video Competition
Dear Mrs Jones and the children of Renishaw Primary School,
I am absolutely thrilled to let you know that your video has won the 2nd prize at the Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize Video Competition! Congratulations! If you missed the awards ceremony, you can watch the full event here: https://youtu.be/gmyoE0Z4Srg
We thought your video was wonderful. The quality of your group’s argument and the presentation of your thoughts were brilliant – our team here and Professor Katharine Cashman FRS (Chair of the shortlist judging panel for the books), were really impressed.
Your prize is £250 worth of book tokens for your group, which we will send to you shortly. The prize money must only be used to buy books, but other than that it is up to you how it is used – either you can divide the books amongst your panel members or buy books for your group itself – however you decide.
Before we send this out to you, could you please confirm the email address we should send your book voucher to.
I will be announcing the winners to the rest of the judging panels next week, but I wanted to make sure you were the first to know. Let me know if you have any questions and congratulations again!
Best wishes,
Judit Agui
Renishaw’s Reverse Advent Calendar
The Renishaw Community have been incredibly generous in answering our rally call to boost supplies for the Chesterfield Food Bank. It’s a great way to show children how we can help to make a difference to some of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) that we teach throughout the school.
From the governors, staff and children a massive thank you for thinking and helping others at this time. WARAW.
