Renishaw Primary School

School Uniform

What a child wears to school reflects his/her attitude to learning. It portrays the school’s ethos and shared positive values.

We have a very simple uniform that the pupils are encouraged to wear and consists of:

  • White polo shirt with / without the school logo.
  • Blue cardigan/sweatshirt with the school logo.
  • Black, Navy or Grey plain trousers.
  • Black,Navy or Grey skirt or pinafore dress.
  • Plain white or black socks ·
  • Black shoes or trainers (not boots)

On colder/ wet days we ask for children to come to school with a  warm waterproof coat, and a hat.

In the Summer months the following can be worn in addition to the above:

  • Checked or striped dresses in blue.
  • Fitted shorts in black, grey or navy.
  • Plain T-shirt in white.
  • Sturdy sandals (strappy or high heeled sandals are not suitable)
  • A hat or cap.

On hot sunny days, we ask all parents/carers to apply sun-cream/ lotion to your child/ren before they arrive at school. PLEASE do not send sun-lotion into school with your child.

PE and Games Kit

It is important for pupils to wear correct clothing for physical activities.

For PE children will require:

  • Plain navy or black tracksuit bottoms (no large logos).
  • School hoodies with logo, (againnot branded)
  • A plain white t-shirt.

  • A plain white t-shirt.
  • A pair of dark shorts (black or navy). No cycling shorts or brande clothing.

We also ask for games outside, children will need to bring a suitable pair of trainers/boots; and shin pads for football.

Children are to come to school ready dressed for PE and wearing suitable track suit bottoms and hoodies ready for outdoor PE.

  • A swimsuit (not bikini).
  • Swim pants or trunks (not to baggy).
  • A towel.
  • Goggles - please see the qualitas permission slip for consent.
  • Long hair must be tied up.

All clothing should be clearly labelled.

For health and safety reasons jewellery must not be worn for sporting activities and long hair should be tied back.

Jewellery and other Adornment

The only items that are considered appropriate for school are watches. We do not allow hooped or dangly earrings or jewellery of any kind for safety reasons.

Children may wear one stud earring in each ear but these must be removable by the child, or eemoved by the parent/carer on the morning of PE.
If this isn't possible, then tape will be given to the child to place over the earrings on the PE session.

The staff and school will not accept responsibility of any kind for prohibited items brought or worn by children in school, the staff will ask for them to be removed.

The safest place for jewellery is at home to prevent and potential loss or damage.

Lost Property

Please name all items of children’s clothing.

Naming all items of clothing doesn’t stop loss, but increases the chance of reuniting the item with the owner.

We do keep lost property for a reasonable period of time, but it is often difficult to identify items that are not labelled. If your child has lost something then please check in their classroom first, then check in the lost property box in each school block. Then lastly, please check the Lost Property clothing stand which is located outside Mr Fullers office.
