Admissions

No child will be refused admission to the school on any grounds other than if the limit, set by the Governing Body, has been reached in a particular year group or if to admit a child would prejudice the efficient education of children already in the school. The Governing Body support a maximum class size of thirty with the school’s Published Admission Number (PAN) set at 27 across school except in Nursery where it is set at 26 (26 Morning and 26 PM) Children enter the Reception class in September. Nursery children can enter school at one of three starting points. These being September, January and Easter

Before children can be admitted to the school, details must be given to the Head Teacher, via the School Business Officer, to be entered on the admission form. A birth certificate should be presented prior to starting full time education. The school should be notified immediately of any change of address or telephone number.

All parents wishing to visit the school before applying for admission for their child are more than welcome to do so. Please contact the Head Teacher who will be happy to take time to show you around, discuss the school and answer any questions you may have

The Local Authority provides a common application form online each year opening from the middle of November closing around the middle of January for intake into our Reception Class, inviting all parents to name their preferred schools. The school currently operates a one point entry system in September each year.

Parents and carers applying for places in Reception are invited to do so via the Derbyshire Admissions Website (Follow link below) from November onwards.

Children in Year 6 will be sent information by the LA regarding transfer to Secondary Education. If you do not receive a leaflet please telephone the admissions office at the Derbyshire County Council on 01629 537476
